Description

Firing decals are used to decorate glass and glazed ceramics, among other things. They consist of a thin plastic film with color pigments that is fired in a ceramic kiln and then become dishwasher safe. The plastic film is attached to a piece of paper which is soaked in lukewarm water for about 30 seconds to remove the decal. The piece of paper represents the object, in other words as it sits on the paper it should sit on the goods (if it is turned upside down the decal will disappear during firing).The decal is then carefully transferred onto the glazed ware and fired at around 795°C. On glass at 650-730°C. 

Information

1. If you have difficult shapes to decorate :

a) Warm the ware. This makes the decal softer on contact.

b) Slightly increase the water temperature in the decorating bowl.

2. If you see a halo or “ghost” around the decal after firing :

a) Check the decorating water is clean.

b) Have you fired at the correct temperature ?

c) Was the kiln correctly ventilated ?

3. To store the decal sheets in good condition :

a) Store in a dry place.

b) Do not store near sources of heat or light.

c) Do not store in cold areas.

d) We recommend storing at 16-19°C

4. If you live in areas of hard water it can be beneficial to add just the slightest drop of washing liquid. Do not add more than a drop as this can dissolve the adhesive gum from the paper.

5. If the decal disappears completely or partially:

a) The decal was applied upside down.

b) The firing temperature was too high.

Beschreibung

Diese Abziehbilder werden u. a. zur Dekoration von Glas und glasierter Keramik verwendet. Sie bestehen aus einer dünnen Kunststofffolie mit Farbpigmenten, die in einem Keramikbrennofen gebrannt wird und anschließend spülmaschinenfest ist. Die Kunststofffolie sitzt fest auf einem Stück Papier, das etwa 30 Sekunden lang in lauwarmes Wasser getaucht wird, um das Abziehbild zu lösen.  Das Stück Papier stellt den Gegenstand dar, d. h. so wie es auf dem Papier sitzt, sollte es auch auf der Ware sitzen (wenn es verkehrt herum aufgetragen wurde, verschwindet das Abziehbild beim Brennen). Das Abziehbild wird dann vorsichtig auf die glasierte Ware übertragen und bei ca. 795°C gebrannt. Auf Glas bei 650-730°C. 

Information

1. Wenn Sie schwierige Formen zu dekorieren haben:

a) Erwärmen Sie die Ware. Dadurch wird das Abziehbild bei Kontakt weicher.

b) Erhöhen Sie die Wassertemperatur in der Dekorationsschale leicht.

2. Wenn Sie nach dem Brennen einen Heiligenschein oder einen „Geist“ um das Abziehbild herum sehen:

a) Prüfen Sie, ob das Dekorationswasser sauber ist.

b) Haben Sie mit der richtigen Temperatur gebrannt?

c) Wurde der Ofen richtig belüftet?

3. So lagern Sie die Abziehbilder in gutem Zustand:

a) An einem trockenen Ort lagern.

b) Nicht in der Nähe von Wärme- oder Lichtquellen aufbewahren.

c) Nicht in kalten Räumen lagern.

d) Wir empfehlen die Lagerung bei 16-19 °C

4. Wenn Sie in Gebieten mit hartem Wasser leben, kann es von Vorteil sein, nur einen kleinen Tropfen Waschmittel hinzuzufügen. Fügen Sie nicht mehr als einen Tropfen hinzu, da dies den Klebstoff des Papiers auflösen kann.

5. Wenn Das Abziehbild ganz oder teilweise verschwindet:

a) Das Abziehbild wurde verkehrt herum angebracht.

b) Die Brenntemperatur war zu hoch.
