Crystal glazes are ready-mixed brushing glazes containing crystals and oxides to give colorful or metallic effects after firing. They are fired up to 1000°C, at higher temperatures the glaze may change its behavior and color (see information at each glaze). They do not need to be clear-glazed. Effect glazes are not suitable for food service.
