Description

Amaco's water-based wax resist (decorative wax) is perfect for dipping the bottoms of stoneware items to prevent the glaze from sticking. Wax can also be used to create interesting glaze patterns on bisque or greenware. Easy to apply with a brush, burns off in the kiln. 473 ml.

Information

The decorative wax can be applied between different layers of glaze to achieve batik effects or similar.

During glaze firing, more smoke is produced from the wax burning away. Make sure the kiln is well ventilated.

Leave a little more space between the items in the oven, as the wax may fall off or onto nearby items during firing before it burns away.

If the glaze to be kept away with the decorative wax is applied too thickly, the wax will not be able to prevent the glaze from running onto the area that is to be protected.
