Kanthal wire / high-temperature wire (Gauge 9) for firing glazed beads and similar items. The wires should be coated with kiln wash or shelf primer before threading the beads. Fire the kiln wash onto the wire with a bisque firing to prevent glaze from sticking. The wires are reusable, approximately 25 cm long with a diameter of about 3 mm. They withstand temperatures up to 1240 °C but are not suitable for raku firing. To avoid deformation, the wire should not be loaded with more than 2.5 g per 2.5 cm during firing.
