Description

Pottery Cascade is a fluid glaze used as a flux for earthenware. This glaze is transparent and can be used under and over other earthenware glazes to achieve exciting effects. Can be applied fully or partially with a brush or sponge. Fires at 999˚C. 473 ml.

Information

Apply 1-2 layers with a brush or sponge, under or over another earthenware glaze. The flow direction can be influenced or create a pattern depending on how you apply the glazes. Allow to dry thoroughly. Fire to cone 06/05 (1000°C-1047°C). To prevent the glaze from running on vertical objects, it should not be applied to the lower third of the object. Vertical objects therefore require more attention to this detail than horizontal objects.

Avoid applying Pottery Cascade™ to the lower third of an object, as the glaze will run.

PC-601 Clear Cascade is the most fluid of the Cascade products and requires caution when applying.

PC-602 White Cascade flows less than Clear Cascade.

Pottery Cascade™ glazes are glaze compatible.

We do not recommend dipping the brush directly into the jar to avoid contamination, especially if using a brush to apply Pottery Cascades over other glazes.

Pottery Cascade™ glazes are designed to mature at cone 06 (1000°C). Ensure that the glazes are thoroughly dry before firing. A medium ramp/firing rate is recommended (121°C per hour).
