China White
Description
Fundamentals are underglazes that are shaken before use and applied to clay, leather-hard ware, or bisque with a brush. Colors can be mixed with each other or combined with other glazes. Depending on the thickness of the application, you can achieve a watercolor effect (1 layer) to fully opaque coverage (3-4 layers). They can be fired at 1044°C and 1207°C - 1280°C with possible color and texture variations at temperatures above 1044°C (see the information tab). The examples are made on white clay and fired at 1044°C with NTBR clear glaze applied. Test firing is recommended.
Information
For clear glazes, NT-BR (glossy), S2101 (glossy), C300 (matte) are recommended for earthenware, and SW-001, SW-004, or HF-9 (up to 1240°C) are recommended for stoneware. Always test first when using another clear glaze. The glaze becomes food safe in combination with clear glaze.
Cone 06 oxidation (1000°C): China White will fire matte without addition of a clear glaze. To intensify color or for use on dinnerware, apply clear or matte clear glaze.
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): No change. Recommended clear glaze is SW-001 Stoneware Clear.

Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): No change. Recommended clear glaze is SW-001 Stoneware Clear.
