Description

Spectrum Glazes glaze crystals are lead-free and food-safe when fired to at least cone 06 (1000°C). The crystals are very versatile and can be used successfully from cone 06 (1000°C) to cone 6 (1230°C).  They can be used with any glaze within this firing range to create a wide variety of different looks. They can also be mixed with each other. Some of these crystals may cause cracking on certain glazes, especially at stoneware temperatures. In this case, test the suitability for the purpose.

How to use:

The crystals can be dripped or placed with a brush on the final layer of icing while the surface is still wet, so that the crystals stick to the icing. If the glaze dries before all the crystals have been applied, try spraying a little water on the surface of the glaze to help the crystals stick. These crystals can run a lot when fired to cone 5 or 6 and should not be applied near the bottom of the item when stoneware firing.
