Description

A bead rack with 6 high-temperature rods (9-gauge nichrome wire) for firing glazed beads and similar items. Treat the wires with kilnwash or plattengobe before placing the beads on them. Can be used repeatedly. Dimensions: approx. 16.5 cm high x 5 cm wide, withstands 1240°C. The rods are approx. 25 cm long and have a diameter of approx. 3 mm. There is space for 6 rods. Note: Use the bead rack as shown in the picture and place heavy beads close to the supports, otherwise there is a risk that the beads will slide together during firing. Find extra rods here.

Information

The wires have a maximum weight rating of approximately 13 grams per inch (or 82 grams per 6" wire) resulting in some deflection of the wire.

For little to no deflection, the wires should carry no more than 3.5 grams per inch (or 20.75 grams per 6" wire).

For best results distribute weight evenly across the wire.

All values have been tested at cone 6, results at higher cones may vary.
