Light Magma
Description
Mayco stoneware glazes are best applied with a soft fan brush to bisque-fired ware. Fire to between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures, see images under the Information tab. Test before applying to product. Ready-mixed. 473 ml. See more information here.
This glaze may be quite thick in consistency when opened for the first time, due to its composition. Simply add water and stir until you achieve a brushable consistency.

Information
Mudcrack was developed to create a highly textured, raised, and cracked surface. The thicker the application, the more textured the surface will be. Mudcrack can be applied directly to bisqueware or in combination with other mid-range glazes. For shown results, apply directly to bisqueware. Heavy application may cause unfired glaze to release from the bisqueware. If the glaze is thick in the jar, vigorous stirring and shaking will increase fluidity. The amount of texture and cracking produced with these glazes is directly dependent on how thickly the glaze is applied. A thinner application will result in a smoother surface with very fine cracks. A thicker application will result in larger cracks and more tactile texture.
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Light Magma is a sand-colored, high-texture glaze that creates a rough, cratered surface. The thicker the application, the more textured the surface will be.
Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): Texture slightly flattens. Color changes to a cream/gray.
