Description

Mayco’s water-based Wax Resist (decorative wax) is ideal for, for example, dipping the base of a bowl to prevent glaze from sticking, or for creating interesting patterns on bisque or greenware. The emulsion wax is easy to apply with a brush and burns off during firing. Please note: store frost-free and ship only during frost-free periods.

Note:

• The decorative wax can be applied between different layers of glaze to achieve batik effects or similar results.
• During glaze firing, additional smoke is produced as the wax burns off; ensure that the kiln is well ventilated.
• Leave extra space between pieces in the kiln, as the wax may drip or transfer onto nearby items before it burns away.
• If the glaze is applied too thickly, the wax may not prevent the glaze from running onto the protected area.
