Oyster - Dry
Description
Dipping glaze for stoneware. Fires between 1210 °C and 1280 °C (cone 5 to 10). Can be sprayed and used for oxidation, reduction, etc. Since clays can vary and have different properties, we recommend testing the glaze on a small piece of the clay you want to use. Different results at different temperatures. The bag contains powder that should be mixed with water according to the instructions. The bag contains 4,5 kg of powder and yields approximately 4,5 liters of finished glaze.

Information
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Oyster is a variegated cream/brown glaze that exhibits gray/purple undertones and breaks brown.
Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): Color changes to a variegated brown/cream. Increased movement.

TIP: If your kiln fires cool, the glaze finish may be brown. An iridescent finish may be achieved by re-firing or if your kiln fires hot.If you like Green Tea and Capri Blue combos, then try oyster because these three glazes are in the same glaze family.
