Jungle Gems™ Crystal Glazes from Mayco are transformed in the kiln as the tiny crystals of glass frits burst into color and intricate patterns during the firing process. Artists use these beautiful glazes to create dramatic, colorful effects on their creations.

Shake well, apply in three to four layers with a brush. The crystals settle to the bottom of the jar and are stirred with a spoon or similar to get an even distribution on the ware during application. Fires at 1000°C. Cone 06 oxidation (1000°C): Pagoda Green is a translucent green base glaze with variegated sage/brown crystals.

Cone 6 oxidation (1240°C): Base glaze changes to brown – crystals fade and melt. Enhanced mobility. Surface issues may occur.

Cone 10 reduction (1280°C):
