Description

White-firing stoneware casting slip from Goerg & Schneider for slip casting in plaster molds. The clay fires to a very white body and resembles porcelain in colour, but without translucency. Suitable for ceramic casting projects with high demands for whiteness and strength.

Casting slip is frost sensitive and shipped at your own risk at temperatures below 0 °C (see FAQ for information about frost impact).

Information

The clay has a low coefficient of expansion (COE 5.6) and requires compatible glazes. Always test glaze compatibility before production. Can be combined with KC-GSSG1100.

Stir thoroughly before use. If needed, the slip can be thinned with a few drops of water.

Firing range: 1200–1280 °C (colour varies depending on temperature)
Recommended bisque temperature: 1020 °C (cone 04)
Shrinkage after drying: 4%
Shrinkage at 1200 °C: 4%
Water absorption at 1200 °C: 3%
Shrinkage at 1400 °C: 7%
Water absorption at 1400 °C: 7%
