Stoneware Clay - 10 kg
Description
Throwing and molding clay is sensitive to frost and is shipped at your own risk at temperatures below 0°C (read what happens to clay in frost under FAQ).
This stoneware clay from Goerg & Schneider is almost as white as porcelain due to its high kaolin content, but it is not transparent and is well suited for throwing. It is a demanding clay that is as difficult to handle as porcelain. The clay has a low coefficient of expansion (COE 5.6) and requires glazes that are suitable for this. Test the glaze on the clay before applying it to the product. The firing range is between 1000°C-1280°C, and the color of the clay changes depending on the temperature. The recommended firing temperature is 1040°C (cone 04). Shrinkage after drying: 5%, shrinkage at 1200°C: 9%. Absorption at 1200°C: 0.1%. Shipping prices for clay can be found under Shipping and deliveries. 10 kg.
