Stoneware Clay with small spots and grog - 10 kg
Description
Stoneware clay with 25% grog (0-0,2 mm) and basalt spots for sculpting and throwning. The spots get more effective att higher temperatures. Suggested firerange is 1000°C to 1280°C. Shrinkage after drying: 6% shrinkage at 1070°C: 3%. Absorption at 1070°C: 9%
Information
To prevent the basalt in the clay from sticking to the tiles during the glaze firing, we recommend applying two fresh layers of kiln wash to the kiln shelf or using stoneware stilts (see kiln accessories). Basalt can stain other items in the kiln during the glaze firing. Avoid this by keeping a good distance (ca 5-10 cm) between objects with basalt or placing them on their own shelf during the glaze firing.
