Description 

Dipping glaze for stoneware. Fires between 1210 °C and 1280 °C (cone 5 to 10). Can be sprayed and used for oxidation, reduction, etc. Since clays can vary and have different properties, we recommend testing the glaze on a small piece of the clay you want to use. Different results at different temperatures. The bag contains powder that should be mixed with water according to the instructions. The bag contains 4,5 kg of powder and yields approximately 4,5 liters of finished glaze.

Information 

Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Wrought Iron creates an intermittent, dappled black gloss-matte finish that is reminiscent of high fire oil-spot glazes. Typically, oil-spot glazes are thickly applied and require some reduction during the firing to achieve the oil-matte effects; Wrought Iron does the job with just two coats in a cone 6 oxidation firing.

Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): Color changes to a dark metallic gray.

TIP: The thinner the application the more brown the glaze. The thicker the application the more black the glaze. This glaze is not completely matte, but will have a matte finish with variation of gloss. Due to the high manganese content, there is a chance of bubbling on a speckled clay body.
