Description
Mayco stoneware glazes are best applied with a soft fan brush to bisque-fired ware. Fire to between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures, see images under the Information tab. Test before applying to product. Ready-mixed.
Information
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Copper Float glaze is a rich and complex midrange glaze with hues varying from reds, to coppers to gun metal blacks. Predominate coloration is a dark rusty red. The surface is satin-matte when fired to cone 5 or 6.
Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): Finish flattens. Color changes to a warm brown with some copper mottling.

TIP: One coat will produce dark, greenish tones, thicker coats will add greens. Thickest applications will result in metallic red hues.
