Fool's Gold
Description
Mayco’s stoneware glazes are preferably applied with a soft fan brush onto the bisque-fired ware. Fire between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures — see images; test before applying on production pieces. 473 ml. Ready to use.
Information
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Fool’s Gold is a gloss, semi-transparent glaze consisting of a rich brown base with tiny, gold metallic flecks. The variation of glaze depends on application. The thicker the application, the more homogenous the color will be. The glaze will break translucent and pool darker around surface textures.
Cone 10 reduction (1280°C): Color darkens and produces metallic mottling.
