Honeycomb
Description
Mayco stoneware glazes are best applied with a soft fan brush to bisque-fired ware. Fire to between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures, see images under the Information tab. Test before applying to product. Ready-mixed.
Information
Cone 6 (1230°C): Honeycomb is a variegated brown matte glaze that contains a sandy-brown crystal. As the crystal melts it creates glossy blooms that can produce yellow mottling in the glaze, producing a textured fired finish.
Cone 10 (1280°C): Color darkens.

TIP: SW-103 Sisal is the base glaze. For a lighter crystal effect, you may try applying two coats of SW-103 Sisal with a third coat of SW-117 Honeycomb.
