Satin Patina
Description
Mayco stoneware glazes are best applied with a soft fan brush to bisque-fired ware. Fire to between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures, see images under the Information tab. Test before applying to product. Ready-mixed.
Information
Cone 6 Oxidation (1230°C): Satin Patina is a rich tonal matte green patina glaze. The variation of the glaze is dependent on application. The thicker the application the more opaque and homogenous the color will be, and thinner application will allow more of the clay body to show through the glaze. Satin Patina is a stable glaze.
Cone 10 Reduction (1280°C): Finish flattens. Color lightens. Brown/orange undertones come through.

Note: Not recommended for dinnerware due to surface durability.
