Wintergreen
Description
Mayco stoneware glazes are best applied with a soft fan brush to bisque-fired ware. Fire to between cone 5 and cone 6 (1200°C - 1230°C). Many colors also perform very well at higher temperatures, see images under the Information tab. Test before applying to product. Ready-mixed.
Information
Cone 6 oxidation (1230°C): Wintergreen is a light-green, semi-opaque satin matte glaze at cone 6. Lighter coatings will allow body characteristics to appear through the glaze (especially on dark and speckled clay bodies). Use three coats to achieve the deepest opacity.
Cone 10 (1280°C): Changes to a transparent pale green gloss with matte crystal growth.

TIP: This is a true matte glaze at cone 5, becomes satin at cone 6.
