Engobes and crayons

Underglazes and engobes in squeeze bottles or sticks are ready to be applied to ceramics (leather-hard or bisque-fired); engobes are either natural clays or a mixture of clays and pigments. Our engobes are premixed and ready to be applied to the piece with a brush or squeeze bottle.

They can be applied to unfired or bisque-fired pieces and can be fired at temperatures between 1000°C and 1260°C. Applying a suitable clear glaze over the design makes underglazes and engobes food-safe. Colors may vary depending on the clay and at temperatures higher than 1040°C. The results shown on the website were fired at 1040°C.
