Brushing glazes

All our brushing glazes for stoneware are pre-mixed and applied with a soft natural hair brush in 2-4 layers, they are mid-fire glazes which give best results at 1210°-1240°C. At higher temperatures, some glazes may change their appearance and texture.

Our glazes may develop what are known as oolites, which form as a result of a natural process involving certain raw materials in the glaze. These are small white spheres of varying sizes. If they are detected, they should be strained out (using a 60-mesh strainer) before use. The glaze is then used as usual.
